Cops and Robbers

Photo source from jesadaphorn of www.freedigitalphotos.net
Kurukuro warns all homeowners to be aware of the emergence of home invasion robbery cases perpetrated by criminals posed as police officers. Recently, two cops and robbers incidents have been reported and ransacked two homes.

Why victims fell prey to police impersonators? When people see a man in police uniform and carries a badge, it commands respect and trust. People remember that law enforcement officers pledge to serve the public and put their lives on the line. Full trust is given to our police officers.

Method of Operation: police impersonators knock on doors of unsuspecting residents and robbed them of cash and personal valuables. Criminals posed as policemen to allow homeowners lower down their guard upon seeing them in front of their gates. Robbing residents at home is easier than robbing convenience stores and fast food outlets equipped with CCTVs. Home invaders prefer residential homes because there is more time wiping out all valuables and they can easily escape.

Do you enjoy drinking coffee and milk teas? Are you fond of going to coffee shops and milk tea outlets during your leisure time?  Kurukuro informs all coffee shop owners, milk tea owners and customers that there were robbery incidents involving these establishments.

With several international coffee chain stores,  other gourmet coffee establishments  and milk tea stores expanding nationwide, robbery syndicates shifted its focus to them. The Cable Guy 2

Photo by Boians Choo Joo Young of  www.freedigitalphotos.net
Kurukuro noticed that the 2010 cable guy modus surfaced again. The robbers are bolder, more aggressive and assisted by well connected tipsters. Homeowners are specifically targeted thus involvement of a tipster within the same community is a great possibility. To know more go to http://kurukuronimye.com/2013/09/the-cable-guy-2/

Child Kidnaps a Child

Photo courtesy of VLADO of www.freedigitalphotos.net
Kurukuro warns the public to be aware of a new modus organized by a group of syndicates and children. Kidnapping syndicate recruits kids and teenagers as young as 7 years old as their accomplice in the group’s operation. Minors, mostly street children and recruited from slum areas, are tasked to befriend a target victim. Once the child suspect establishes familiarity with the target, he will invite the victim to go with him and lure away from the eyes of nannies/parents. Once left alone, the kidnappers will snatch the child victim.
Kurukuro reiterates that this new method of operation (MO) perpetrated by a few groups DOES NOT depict that there is a rising case of abduction with the new MO. The purpose of sharing (aside from informing) is for the public to be prudent in keeping the children safe and be aware of their surroundings. Just because the child has new playmates, it doesn’t mean that the parents will let their guard down.

Robbery Gang Shifts Target

Criminals are not around every corner. But they take anyone by surprise and can even target a crowded residential community. Heist is done in less than 5 minutes.

You lived in a community wherein you knew people since they were playing on the streets.  Every day, you leave and comes back to the place where you think is the safest haven. Homeowners beware! There’s a new robbery holdup scheme that victimized residents. Robbery gang shifts target to nonexclusive residential communities.
Kurukuro warns all homeowners to be aware of a crime gang that preys on homeowners of none exclusive residential communities. Robbery gang shifts target to a neighborhood that has no security guards, no CCTVs and has an easy access to the main roads. Robbers pick these new victims through tipsters or surveillance team. Aside from cash, easily converted to cash like guns, jewelries, laptops and other small electronic devices such as tablets and mobile phones are favorite target to steal.
