Intruders Target Homes With Guard Dogs

Just because you have dogs, it doesn’t necessarily mean that your home is burglar free.

On April 18, 2013, armed robbery group members robbed a resident from Barangay Mendez Crossing East, Tagaytay City, Cavite Province.  According to the resident, he was awakened by a strange noise outside his bedroom and were quite surprise how come all his guard dogs were not barking. Suspicious on strange noise, he got his gun and went out to inspect the house perimeter. The resident caught the suspects in the act of stealing some personal belongings which prompted him to fire a warning shot. Astounded with the warning shot, the suspects fired back at him. The quick thinking robbers decided to escape when they noticed that the owner of the house prepared to defend his family and property. The suspects hurriedly escape taking with them few valuables through a waiting unmarked vehicle. After the robbers left the area, the homeowner was shocked to see all five guard dogs were poisoned. No suspects were arrested.

On March 4, 2013 at about 2:20AM, unidentified armed men robbed and killed pet dogs of a couple in Barangay Guinhawa North Tagaytay City in Cavite Province. While the victims were sleeping in their bedroom, they heard a strange noise outside their room. A man threatened the victims with a gun as soon as they went out of the room to look into the strange noise. Both victims were hogtied as soon as intruders emptied their vault and hurriedly escaped with documents, cash and valuables. Tagaytay City police discovered that the couple’s two guard dogs were poisoned. No suspects were arrested.

Nowadays, criminals are very cunning individuals. Robbery groups are getting more aggressive and dangerous in these present times. Intruders, who normally scale perimeter walls, target homes with guard dogs. These homeowners, who feel secured with their dogs, are being complacent that they will not become thieves’ target because of their dogs. Kurukuro thinks that burglars, who resorted to poisoning dogs, have specifically targeted a particular home they wish to break into. They know (must be through a reliable source?) that they can get more cash and valuables compared to their other potential targets.

Robbery Gang Preys on Dona Lolas

In 2010, Kurukuro reported a robbery gang that victimized female senior citizens (SYNDICATES TARGET SENIOR CITIZEN  http://kurukuronimye.com/2010/08/syndicates-target-senior-citizens/).
The suspects’ modus to befriend unescorted female elderly, invite them to board their van and robbed them of their belongings. As soon as they got all the cash and valuables of the poor victim, they will abandon her penniless but unharmed.

In today’s news, robbery suspects prey on female senior citizens, abduct and rob them of their cash and valuables. Fear of being recognized and reported to the police authorities, these criminals mercilessly kill their defenseless victims. Police recovered several bodies of the missing senior citizens in Cavite and Cagayan Provinces.
