Criminals are getting creative in preying on their victims by targeting a more vulnerable target, senior citizens. In this hard time, no one is spared even the old ones.
Kurukuro warns the public to be aware of a robbery and kidnapping syndicates who victimize on unaccompanied elderly and rich-looking women. Due to age and vulnerability, these suspects on board a van look for old people through a contact. As soon as target has been identified, the syndicate members will approach and befriend the victim. During conversation, the suspects will invite the potential target (in one case the victim was hypnotized) to ride in their van and will insist on bringing her home citing her poor physical condition. Inside the van, the criminals will get all the victim’s valuables and will start to ask about her financial background as well her other family members. After establishing that she has more valuables at home, the suspects will forcibly taker her home to get more valuables.
